BROOME to KUNUNURRA via Gibb River Road

EXPEDITION SUMMARY

Broome to Kununurra over 13 days along the famous Gibb River Road. This is very early in the season and an ambitious adventure for those with an open mind and up for a challenge. Road closures may prevent us getting to some destinations north of the GRR. A route that sees us trying to get to places in the north that may not be accessible, but we’ll give it a crack. It will require some flexibility and undoubtedly some unplanned outcomes. The northern goal being Mitchell Falls and McGowans Beach, enroute we’ll stay at  Bells Gorge and Drysdale River Station. If the road is impassable we’ll stay on the GRR and experience the Kimberley Station life at Ellenbrae and Home Valley.

A GRR trip is incomplete without staying at El Questro Station for a couple of nights where we’ll have the opportunity to explore this magnificent outback property. An opportunity to fish for Barramundi and swim in some amazing waterholes like Emma Gorge. This trip culminates with an overnight stop at Lake Argyle and the Ord Valley Muster’s ‘Moon Experience’ in Kununurra, one of the regions biggest festivals.

EXPEDITION OVERVIEW
The Kimberley is on everyone’s bucket list, isn’t it? Everyone likes getting stuck in the mud, don’t they? This expedition will certainly test out the recovery gear!
No camping experience is necessary, just a desire to experience camp life under the stars and some luxury overland travel.
A medium level of fitness will be required together with a willingness to jump in and lend a hand.
The best time to visit this region of Australia is during the dry season. This adventure is timed very early in the season, so it’ll surely be interesting to see where we can and can’t get to.
This is not a ‘Boys Only Adventure’. Couples and Singles are welcome.
