KIMBERLEY LOOP – 18 Days

EXPEDITION SUMMARY

This expedition will take you over 18 days along the famous Gibb River Road starting and finishing in Broome. This is the Holy Grail, the Gold Medal Tour, the Ducks Nuts of Expeditions.
We begin visiting a series of the most spectacular gorges, where you’ll have difficulty deciding which one is best. We’ll swim in some of the most beautiful waterholes you’ll ever see, each with their own characteristics and requiring some physical effort to reach. Waterfalls, sunshine, good food and the expanse of the outback will fill your days. We take the Kalumburu Road northbound, passing Drysdale River Station and onwards to Mitchell Falls. Enjoy a short helicopter flight over the region and a Fishing Charter at Honeymoon Bay, where we’ll get amongst some extraordinary top end species.
Back down to the GRR and after crossing the famous Pentecost River we arrive at El Questro Station, our home for a couple of nights where we’ll have the opportunity to explore this magnificent outback property. An opportunity to fish for Barramundi and a hike/swim at Emma Gorge.
We slip in to Kununurra to re-stock our supplies before heading to Lake Argyle, with a presence and size that demands a 2 night stay. So much is on offer from a sunset cruise to a scenic flight – it’s your choice!
It’s then on to Purnululu National Park [Bungle Bungles] for 2 nights and the opportunity to walk the trails. It’s an up close and personal view of these amazing bee-hive rock formations and the chance to walk amongst them gives a true perspective of who the real boss is.
We head back towards Broome via Halls Creek and Fitzroy Crossing. We visit Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge as one last memorable experience before arriving back in Broome.
